Phoebe Hamann Music Scholarship

The 2018 Phoebe Hamann Music Scholarship was awarded to Grace Dowd. Grace has played the viola for twelve years, performing with local student groups and a variety of Nebraska honors orchestras, including the All-State orchestra. She was a featured senior soloist with the Lincoln Youth Symphony and the Homeschool Orchestra. After spending a month with the Credo Chamber music workshop at Oberlin Conservatory, she was selected as a participant for the finale concert, performing Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony in Chicago. Grace began her studies as a viola major at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the fall of 2018.

Charles Hamann Music Scholarship

The 2018 Charles Hamann Scholarship was awarded to Sean Lebita. Sean is a graduate of Lincoln North Star High School and plays violin, piano, and percussion. He has performed with honors orchestras, honor bands, and jazz band. He played with the All State Jazz Band for two years. He is a Nebraska Young Artist Award winner, is active with the TriM Music Honor Society, and serves as a church accompanist. Sean began his studies in piano performance at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the fall of 2018.

From time to time, our Scholarship Committee chooses to award additional scholarships, often given in honor of SAIL Camp Board Members or SAIL Camp anniversary years.

The 2017 Compass Rose Award was awarded to Brendon Gibbons. Brendon is a junior at Doane University, majoring in music education/flute.
