Phoebe Hamann Scholarship
During her lifetime, Phoebe Hamann inspired and encouraged countless local musicians. She gave a great deal of time, talent, and energy to help the arts and music flourish in Lincoln. Phoebe was one of the original planners and founders of SAIL (Strings Alliance in Lincoln) Camp. SAIL Camp has benefited many strings musicians during its three decades of existence. In an effort to continue her work, individuals who knew and loved Phoebe Hamann have established The Phoebe Hamann Memorial Scholarship. This annual award, presented in an amount not to exceed $1000, recognizes and assists a former SAIL Camp participant/intern with his/her college expenses.
Requirements for Applicants
Applicants must plan a career in a music profession such as music performance, education, or another music-related major area. Applicants must have been a SAIL Camp intern and/or participant. The scholarship award will be directly deposited into the recipient's college student account for direct application to the expenses of attending that college's School of Music or Music Department. This is a non-renewable scholarship.
