SAIL Camp interns are vital to the success of every camp session. Our interns have the opportunity to serve as role models and share their love of music with young string students.
SAIL Camp internships are open to string students who are currently in grades 9-12 or who are recent high school graduates. SAIL interns assist classroom teachers with small group instruction, may be asked to provide one-on-one tutoring to students, and help staff the Ship's Store at the end of each daily session.
Interns may volunteer for morning (Beginner) or afternoon (Experienced) sessions at SAIL Camp North and/or SAIL Camp South. Interns are required to perform with the campers at the Final Concert and assist with the set-up and tear-down for the concert. Dates and times for this year's camps and concerts can be found here.
SAIL Camp internships satisfy the LPS Community Service graduation requirement for students entering their senior year of high school.
Not all intern applicants may be selected for an internship. Consideration of applications is based on age, experience, and the need to earn volunteer credits for LPS or other organizations.
